Tuesday, November 3rd was a good night for our Party, and a great night for Team GQR!
We are proud to have helped flip 6 congressional seats, elect 4 US Representatives in districts deliberately redrawn for Republicans, elect 3 new members to the US Senate, reelect a 4th, elect 3 new Governors and help a 4th secure a second term, keep the IA State Auditor Democratic and expand the historic majority in the DFL Senate Caucus. We did all of this while also doing our part to reelect 9 members of the US House.
We worked with our talented clients to start winning in 2025 and never looked back. Our strategic insights and advice helped successful campaigns fight and win in tough primaries and continue forward to ensure Democratic majorities at every level of government across our entire country.
GQR worked with Zach Dembo (KY-06), Pia Dandiya (FL-22), and Zach Mullock (NJ-02), flipping Republican districts and helped Congressman Don Davis (NC-01) hold in in a district redrawn to produce a new Republican seat. We worked with HMP to flip PA-01, MT-01, SC-1 and to re-elect Democrats TX-28, TX-34, and NY-04. We won competitive primaries to elect new members in Stefany Shaheen (NH-01) and Jeremy Moss (MI-11). KY-06, FL-22, PA-01 and MT-01 represented 4 of the top 10 partisan swings and NC-01 was the most expensive race in the country ($53 million).
Since we are pollsters, we thought we’d share some charts.
What started with tough primary wins led to election night blowouts for our US Senate candidates. Working with our candidates and partners we accomplished some big things. We want to congratulate Senator John Hicklenlooper of Colorado, Senators-Elect Chris Pappas of New Hampshire, Peggy Flanagan of Minnesota, and James Talarico of Texas.
We all know what happens in Washington, DC is important, but electing strong leaders in the states is just as important. Governors matter. For eight years we have been on Katie Hobbs’ team in Arizona and this week we were proud to help her secure a second term as Governor. We are proud to work with Attorney General Phil Weiser (Colorado) and Governor-Elect Hannah Pingree (Maine) in their successful gubernatorial campaigns. It was an honor to work with our partners to elect Deb Haaland making history as the first Native American woman elected Governor of New Mexico.
It was an honor to work with Taylor Wettach, and we congratulate him on his election as Iowa State Auditor. Working with our friends at the DFL Senate Caucus has been thrilling and we cannot wait to see how much further we expand the majority when all the ballots are counted.
