Greenberg Quinlan Rosner/ Politico.com Straw Poll Results
March 19, 2008. Washington, DC. Greenberg Quinlan Rosner, in conjunction with Politico.com
conducted a Straw Poll of registered participants at the Take Back
America conference held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel March 17-19, 2008 and hosted by the Campaign for America's Future. The results were reported at an afternoon press conference by Greenberg Quinlan Rosner's Senior Vice President, Anna Greenberg, and Politico's Chief Political Corespondent, Mike Allen.
"Though not necessarily representative of the Democratic Party at large, this straw poll was a thermometer of where Democratic activists stand," said Anna Greenberg. "These are the people who will be active in getting out the vote this fall. Its important - and interesting - to gauge their thinking on the state of the election right now." The poll, which showed a 72% victory for Senator Obama, surveyed preferences on the Democratic candidates, key issues, and opinions regarding super delegates and the seating of pledged delegates from Florida and Michigan. Voters voiced the struggling economy as their top concern, and also expressed a desire to conduct a re-vote in Michigan and Florida.
This was the second year
in a row in which the jointly-sponsored poll was a feature of the conference.
