Greenberg Quinlan Rosner congratulates Rahm Emanuel, who was re-elected as mayor of Chicago yesterday with 56 percent of the vote, on defeating Cook County Commissioner Chuy Garcia. Unique for Chicago, Rahm won large majorities in both the African-American and white communities. He carried not only the well-off Lakefront region, but also the white working class and poorest neighborhoods. This election was a critical moment in Chicago’s history, and voters enthusiastically endorsed Rahm’s work to bring new companies and create jobs in the city, give all CPS students full day kindergarten and universal pre-K, raise the minimum wage, ensure free college for good students, and renovate parks in every neighborhood. Rahm Emanuel won as a progressive who will address the city's looming financial issues.
Greenberg Quinlan Rosner provided qualitative and quantitative research and strategic advice to the campaign, as it has throughout Emanuel’s time as mayor. This project was led by CEO Stan Greenberg and Vice President Drew Lieberman, assisted by Laura Swartz, James Hazzard, and Paul Sevigny.
