Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Senior Associate Jason McGrath works on domestic projects, providing research and analysis for candidate and issue campaigns. McGrath has conducted research in over 35 states, and has advised several successful candidates for city, state and federal office, including U.S. Senator Tom Udall (NM), U.S. Representatives Betty Sutton (OH), Martin Heinrich (NM), Ben Ray Lujan (NM) and Paul Kanjorski (PA), Governor Bill Richardson (NM), Lt. Governor Diane Denish (NM), State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias (IL) and Mayor Richard M. Daley (Chicago, IL). He also worked for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee for the past two election cycles, providing polling and advice for the independent expenditure campaigns of over 20 Congressional victories.

In addition to his candidate-based work, McGrath has done extensive research for progressive non-profit organizations and labor unions. In 2008, McGrath worked with the National Education Association, advising them in their member outreach program for the presidential election. He conducted research among NEA members in 13 states, targeting NEA’s paid communications to persuadable members in order to boost support for NEA’s endorsed candidates and presenting strategic findings to NEA’s state affiliate Presidents and Executive Directors.

For the past three years, McGrath has conducted bipartisan national research on behalf of Mayors Against Illegal Guns, an organization representing over 320 mayors from more than 40 states. McGrath also has significant experience on energy and environmental issues, working with organizations like the Center for American Progress.

In addition to polling and consulting, McGrath also serves as a focus group moderator, leading discussion groups around the country for political, issue-based, and corporate clients.

Before joining Greenberg Quinlan Rosner, McGrath served as Research Director for the 2002 Wofford for Congress campaign in Pennsylvania's Sixth District. He also worked at the Alliance for Retired Americans (AFL-CIO) as a Political Coordinator, helping to organize their national political strategy for the 2004 campaign. In 2004, he joined the communications staff of the Hoeffel for Senate campaign in Pennsylvania, again in the capacity of Research Director.

McGrath, who was born and raised in Pennsylvania, received his Bachelor's degree in International History from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. He lives and works in Chicago, Illinois.
